Timekeeper

The hybrid piece Timekeeper includes several medical scans of my body. I collected the films over a number of years, digitally composited them into a life-size figure, printed them on watercolor paper, and then completed the image via drawing and painting. The piece is a record of the passing of time – not just one lifetime (as illustrated by the medical scans) but also time through evolution, technology, and culture.
This project is partially supported by a CAAP grant from the City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.
